ADVANCE TO THE NEXT LEVEL WITH THE USPS® PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

The 2011 NPF - USPS professional certificate program will be posted closer to the meeting time.  Below is the 2010 USPS professional certificate program for your review.

 

When you attend a specific number of workshops in a track, you can earn an official USPS professional certificate. This year, we’re offering the following 14 professional certificate programs:

CUSTOMER ACQUISITION & LOYALTY

Build strong customer relationships to improve response rates and profitability. Learn the latest on innovative acquisition and retention techniques using postal products and services. For a Customer Acquisition & Loyalty certificate, attend "The Value of Mail" workshop under the Key Topics led by USPS Executives and any four Customer Acquisition & Loyalty workshops.

 

COMMUNICATION TIPS TO STAY CONNECTED

So how do you stay connected? These days, with everything running at such a hurried pace, it’s hard to know where to turn for information. Attend the carefully crafted workshops and networking opportunities to help you stay connected. To earn your certificate, attend Tuesday’s PeertoPeer session and any four workshops from this track.

 

COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES

Attend specially designed workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities presented by respected and familiar experts from both the USPS and colleges and universities. To earn your Colleges & Universities Mailing certificate, attend any five Colleges and Universities workshops.

 

DIRECT MAIL FROM SOUP TO NUTS

Are you new to the mailing industry? Then come and learn how direct mail works—from designing that first mailpiece, what to do once it’s finalized, and how to test your designs and messages to get the best return on investment. To earn your certificate, attend any five of the Direct Mail from Soup to Nuts workshops.

 

FLATS TRACK FOR PERIODICALS, CATALOGS AND PRINTERS

Change is on the horizon for the flats mail processing. The new Flats Sequencing System (FSS) technology that processes, distributes and delivers letters more efficiently will soon sort "flats" –large envelopes, catalogs, and circulars! To earn your certificate, attend any five workshops in this track.

 

INTELLIGENT MAIL

Sessions in this track will provide a practical understanding of what’s required for you to take advantage of this exceptional technology. Intelligent Mail can tell you where your mail is, where it’s going and when it arrives. To earn your Intelligent Mail certificate, attend any five Intelligent Mail workshops, or attend the Sunday or Wednesday afternoon Intelligent Mail Technical Workshop and one other Intelligent Mail workshop.

 

MAIL CENTER MANAGEMENT

Achieve greater efficiency and profitability with expert help to motivate your staff, stay on budget and boost overall performance. Open the doors to solutions, opportunities, and professionalism in a marketbased environment. For your Mail Center Management Certificate, attend any five workshops in this track.

 

MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP

It is widely believed that a company’s most important asset is its people. Learn about ways to maximize the effectiveness and productivity of your most important asset through leadership and team building opportunities. To earn your Management and Leadership certificate, attend three workshops in this track.

 

NONPROFIT MAILERS

Learn about Nonprofit Standard Mail®, cost reduction opportunities, ideas for more efficiencies, and ways to reach donors more effectively. To earn your Nonprofit Mailers’ certificate, attend any five workshops in the Nonprofit Mailers track.

 

OPTIMIZING PREPARATION & ENTRY

Prepare mailings to achieve greater results and obtain more indepth knowledge of mailing support software. Learn about USPS online tools that can improve your business mail processes. For an Optimizing Preparation and Entry Processes certificate, attend any five workshops in this track.

 

POSTAL CUSTOMER COUNCIL (PCC®)

Take a more active role in your local PCC. These contentrich workshops provide the opportunity to network with peers, share information, and elevate your PCC to an even higher level of excellence. To earn your professional certificate, attend the Sunday PCC Leadership Track Opening Session, three other workshops in this track, and one workshop in the Intelligent Mail track.

 

QUALITY ADDRESSING

Discover how address quality can minimize your costs, retain your customers, and build loyalty. The decisions you make about address quality impact our common goal, which is to deliver the mail more efficiently and reach your valued customers. This certificate will recognize your mastery of new addressing technologies that will enhance your bottom line. For your Quality Addressing certificate, attend any five Quality Addressing workshops.

 

SAFETY AND SECURITY

Learn how to recognize today’s latest frauds and how Postal Inspectors pursue criminals who use the mail to defraud, along with ways you can secure your own mail. To earn a Safety & Security certificate, attend the "How the Postal Inspection Service will Meet Tomorrow’s Challenges" workshop under Key Topics led by USPS Executives and four other workshops within the Safety and Security track.

 

SHIPPING SERVICES

Learn about the initiatives USPS introduced to drive the package business. Better understand the global marketplace and how USPS solutions can improve your bottom line. For a Shipping Services certificate, attend "The Wonderful World of Expedited Shipping" workshop under Key Topics led by USPS Executives and any four workshops in the Expedited, Ground or Global Services tracks.

ATTENTION EMCM GRADUATES

The Executive Mail Center Management (EMCM) Annual Training Program is an opportunity for EMCM graduates to enhance their credentials each year thorough the completion of select educational courses. Participants may gain annual advanced EMCM credentials by successfully completing the following workshops:
